Release Notes
GestureCraft 1.0 is a notarized, Developer ID-signed release for direct download.
1.0.17
Built and notarized October 2026.
- License improvements
- Deactivate now locks GestureCraft on this Mac the moment you click it. GestureCraft also checks that every license answer, including a refusal, really comes from the SKJ APPS license server, and a key for a different SKJ APPS app is turned down without using up one of its activations.

- Stronger license check
- GestureCraft now checks that every license answer really comes from the SKJ APPS license server before it unlocks. Nothing changes for you: your key and your settings stay as they are.

- License check at every launch
- GestureCraft now confirms your license with the license server each time it opens, so it needs an internet connection to unlock. If the server can't be reached, your key stays saved, Settings shows that it is checking, and GestureCraft unlocks by itself as soon as the connection is back.
- Long labels no longer cut off
- A long rule action and a long setting description in Settings now wrap onto a second line instead of being cut off.

- A second way to read the trackpad
- On a Mac whose trackpad does not pass its touches to GestureCraft the usual way, such as a MacBook Neo, Setup's trackpad check can now switch to reading your fingers through macOS's own gesture events. If a later macOS update lets GestureCraft read the trackpad the usual way again, it switches back by itself.

- Your license stays shown after a restart
- After you quit and reopen GestureCraft, the License page now shows your license as active instead of asking for your key again. It also no longer says Offline right after you activate.
- A trackpad check in Setup
- If Setup's test hears nothing from your trackpad for a few seconds, GestureCraft now tries the other ways it can read the trackpad while you keep moving your fingers, and switches to one that works. What it finds is included in Export Diagnostics and in bug reports.
- Report a bug from the app
- Settings > About now has Report a Bug and Contact Support buttons. Each opens a ready-to-send email with your app, macOS, trackpad and permission details. Report a Bug also attaches a diagnostics file, with web addresses, file paths and scripts hidden.

- See how each gesture is done
- When you pick a trackpad gesture for a rule, a small trackpad under the picker now plays the gesture on a loop, with one plain sentence saying what to do. Hold then Swipe, for example, shows the fingers resting still and then sliding.
- Easier to read in light mode
- The green and orange status words in Setup and the warning under a keyboard trigger are now dark enough to read on a light background.
- Smaller fixes
- An imported rule that clicks an extra mouse button now shows that button's name. The Reverse mouse scroll setting's description no longer gets cut off. When MistBar hides menu bar icons, the GestureCraft menu now opens under the icon MistBar shows in its place.

- Mouse drags now have directions
- Hold a mouse button and drag up, down, left, right or diagonally, and each direction can run its own action. Pick the direction under the button when you set a rule to Drag. A Drag rule set to Any direction works exactly as before.
- Setup asks for your licence key
- The first-run setup now asks for your licence key and says plainly that no rule runs until it is entered.
- Shortcut names follow your keyboard layout
- A shortcut is now named by the key you actually pressed on your own layout, so a German keyboard shows Ö and Ä instead of the American keys in the same place.
1.0.10

- Gestures are no longer dropped while the app reconnects to your trackpad
- GestureCraft was quietly rebuilding its connection to the trackpad every time you switched to it, woke your Mac or opened its menu, and any gesture in progress was lost when it did. It now reconnects only when a trackpad is actually plugged in or unplugged.
- The diagnostics report answers the question support actually needs
- Export Diagnostics now says whether your trackpad is sending touches to GestureCraft at all, and whether your licence is active, so a support reply takes one round instead of three.
1.0.9

- Drag to scroll, with any mouse
- Hold a mouse button and move the mouse to scroll any window - no scroll wheel needed, and it works with a plain two-button mouse. Add it like any other rule: Add Rule, click the button you want, choose Drag, then pick Scroll, with its own speed and direction saved on the rule. A right-click that does not move still opens the normal right-click menu.
- Drag is a new trigger
- Any non-left mouse button can now trigger on Drag as well as Click and Hold, and a Drag rule can run any action, not only Scroll.
1.0.7
Built and notarized September 2026.
- Window snapping across multiple displays
- Window actions - Left/Right Half, the quarters, Maximize, Center, and Move to Next Display - now act on the display the window is actually on, instead of jumping it to your main screen. Maximizing or tiling a window onto a larger external display now fills that display correctly rather than coming up short.
1.0.6
Built and notarized September 2026.
- Editing shortcuts in text fields
- Added the standard Edit menu, so Command-C, Command-V, Command-X, and Command-A now work in the app's text fields, including pasting your license key in Settings ▸ License. The License Key field also takes focus the moment that pane opens, so paste and typing land right where you expect.

- Install trust
- Developer ID signing, hardened runtime, notarized ZIP/DMG artifacts, app and DMG stapling, and Gatekeeper validation were proven locally.
- Rules library
- Trackpad, keyboard, and mouse-button rules use a unified model with app scopes, safe starter defaults, preset previews, destructive-change Undo, Test Mode, and diagnostics.
- Onboarding
- Setup distinguishes trackpad availability, Accessibility, Input Monitoring when needed, and practice/skip completion state.
- Recovery
- Input service retries, trackpad retry, sleep/wake recovery hooks, and support diagnostics are built in.
